Electrical Engineer
Peterborough, Ontario*
An exciting opportunity has arisen for you to join us as an Electrical Engineer within the Naval Defense organization based in Peterborough, ON.
This is a high-profile role that will give you direct exposure to a diverse portfolio of Naval Handling Equipment programs. The Electrical/Control System Engineer shall specify, design and validate complex sub-systems, including high-level requirements for the software and / or hardware system components and liaise with other disciplines to understand functional performance capabilities of components of the system to facilitate effective electrical design.
Key Accountabilities
- Analyses and translates high level requirements and applicable standards into electrical design requirements
- Liaise with other disciplines to understand functional performance capabilities of components of the system to facilitate effective electrical design
- Designs and implements electrical designs to meet requirements including their testability
- Install programs, supports system integration and troubleshooting at the facility, at third party test houses, and in the field
Qualifications
- A recognized electrical engineering degree and license with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) as a P. Eng.
- Work experience of 3 - 5 years, preferably in the electrical field
- Proficiency in English with a high level of verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with industrial control systems (PLC, HMI), and CAD software would be advantageous
- Must be Canadian Citizen or permanent resident of Canada for greater than 5 years
