    The mechanic shop operates on a 4 -10hr shift schedule providing work life balance. There will also be opportunities to work in the field on special assignments as well as work overtime locally.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist in disassembling and reassembling components such as engines, transmissions, cooling systems, fuel and exhaust systems, breaks, clutches, differentials, hydraulics, electrical systems and lubrication systems.
    • Assist in inspecting and testing to detect faults and malfunctions in drill units, diesel compressors, hydraulic support equipment, high-pressure water pumps.
    • Assist in diagnosing faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine the extent of repair required.
    • Perform duties that range from routine preventative maintenance to repairing major breakdowns, including troubleshooting and diagnostics.
    • Service attachments and working tools.
    • Verify and repair emission control systems.

    Professional Experience / Qualifications

    • 5 + years of experience with heavy industrial equipment, including hydraulic equipment, diesel engines and compressors, high-pressure water pumps, drill units, diesel trucks, crawlers, and pumps
    • Ability to diligently organize work, make decisions and set priorities
    • Valid driver's licence
    • Previous experience working on drilling equipment is a strong asset
    • Strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to train and direct 1-2 apprentices as needed
    • Complete and pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test (oral fluid)

    Education

    • High School Diploma or equivalent.
    • Must hold Journeyman ticket or have equivalent working experience

    Compensation

    $40.00/hr - $43.00/hr - Shop Rate

    $43.00/hr - $50.00/hr - Field Rate
