Position Reports to:
Position Summary:
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
Responsibility Area #- Documentation and Reporting
- Lead and support safety strategies, plans, policies, practices, and procedures, JHA's for onsite activities.
- Calculate, track, analyze, and report health and safety statistics
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and occupational injuries / illness to determine causes and preventative measures
- Manage the A&H Modified / Alternate Work Program
- Maintain employee files (hard copies and digital)
- Assist with nonsafety related admin and general duties as required.
Responsibility Area #- Communication and Feedback
- Coach and guide supervisors and workers in the areas of health and safety.
- Provide feedback to management identifying successes, areas for improvement and recommendations.
- Visit the worksites to maintain relationships with contractors, assist in conducting workplace inspections, and to ensure safety standards are met and being enforced consistently.
- Ensure incident corrective actions are followed up on and completed
Responsibility Area #- Training
- Ensure compliance and training as required by legislation, contractor standards, and A&H procedures (fall pro, confined space, overhead crane, WHMIS, first aid, etc.).

- Participate in continuous trainings, coaching, and discussions about the values as requested or needed.
- Participate in helping A&H facilitate its purpose.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Working knowledge of relevant provincial OH&S legislation
- Working knowledge and understanding of WCB legislation
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively interact with A&H Steel employees of all levels
- Excellent organizational, analytical, prioritization, and problemsolving skills
- Travel to out of town project sites required

Education and Experience:
- Note: A combination of education and experience outside of the standards below may also be considered._
Education
- High School Diploma
Professional Designation
- CSO (ACSA, BCCSA) designation (required)
Minimum Experience
☐ - 3 Years ☒ - 5 Years ☐ - 7 Years ☐ Years ☐ 10+ Years
Type of Experience Required:
- 3 years' experience in a Safety role
- 5 years' experience in a construction environment
- COR audit experience through the ACSA or MHSA an asset
