Description
AtlantiCann Medical Inc. (AMI) is a license producer of cannabis, requiring a shipper and receiver to join our team. This position will oversee all goods and materials for the entire facility. The Shipper/Receiver will be responsible for receiving goods and materials and ensuring all shipments are palletized by verifying documentation.


Role and Responsibilities:


  • Thoroughly inspect received materials or products for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications. Ensure that incoming materials comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and company quality policies.

Serial Traceability Recording:

Maintain accurate records of incoming materials, including lot numbers and serial numbers, ensuring accurate traceability throughout the production process.


  • Assign Part Numbers: Assign appropriate part numbers to incoming materials based on established protocols, ensuring consistency and clarity in inventory management systems.
  • Ensure Material Compliance: Thoroughly inspect incoming materials to ensure they meet operational specifications and quality standards, flagging any deviations or nonconformities for further investigation.
  • Palletize and prepare all outgoing shipments with proper paperwork.
  • Collaborate with purchasing and internal teams to address any quality concerns or discrepancies.
  • Conduct product testing or sampling to validate quality and performance.
  • Identify and troubleshoot any issues related to the quality of received goods.
  • Work with suppliers to resolve qualityrelated problems promptly.
  • Keep the receiving area organized and clean to facilitate efficient inspections and operations.
  • Organize and assist production to distribute supplies on demand and ensure smooth transition of material.

Preferred Skills and Education:


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Post Secondary is considered an asset.
  • HACCP and/or GMP training is an asset.
  • Shipping and receiving experience.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Previous quality assurance experience in cannabis, pharmaceuticals, medical or food production required.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to write and maintain proper records.
  • First Aid/CPR certification, considered an asset
  • Forklift certification is considered an asset.

Requirements of Applicants:


  • Must be 19 years of age.
  • Have the physical ability to sit, squat, bend, lift, push, pull 50 pounds and kneel repetitively throughout a workday.
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Screenings:
Driver's License, Criminal Background Check, Health Canada, and others as required.


Ability and willingness to work in the following conditions:
Shipping and Receiver may be exposed to pollen, allergens, and chemical pesticides at the facility.

As well as fumes, dust, odors, extreme heat temperatures, heights, indoor AC, no AC, motion, noise, protective gear, vibrations, and water.


Expected Hours of Work:

Typical hours are Monday - Friday.


Working Conditions:


Although you will have standard hours, the company does require you to be available seven (7) days per week including holidays, days, nights, and weekends.

The successful must be able to work a minimum of eight (8) hours a shift and is willing to cover holidays.

The Employee must be able to lift, push and pull up to fifty (50) pounds.

The Employee must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time, frequently sit, squat, bend and kneel repetitively throughout the scheduled shift.
