Landform Inc. is a landscape construction company established in 2003 that services Calgary and the surrounding area.We offer Landscape Construction and Landscape Maintenance - creating and maintaining meaningful spaces such as parks, playgrounds, and restoration projects.
In the winter we continue to support communities by offering Snow Removal services. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a family-oriented company that is ever-growing. This position is located 10 minutes east Cross Iron Mills, 20 minutes from Airdrie and Northwest Calgary.Specific Duties Include (but are not limited to):
- Be familiar with all aspects of the project, including the legal contract, the specifications, drawings, subcontractors and key people involved in the project.
- Identify any long lead items, or special equipment requirements and review or make arrangements for them.
- Review the estimate and identify what is accounted for, what may have been missed and what will need to be tracked for extra billing and/or provisional items.
- Build project binder, submit safety documents and any other required documents such as eco plan, traffic plan, etc.
- Review the estimate and drawings with the operations manager for any technical issues or mistakes. If required submit RFI's and/or change orders.
- Work with the project team to value engineers to gain operational efficiency.
- Write Purchase Orders and order materials.
- Collaborate with the Operations Manager and Sales Manager to schedule the project
- Review site conditions prior to mobilization to confirm the site is ready and site conditions match the estimate.
- Organize and administer the project kickoff meeting with the Foreman.
- Attend weekly trade meetings onsite.
- Keep field team members informed and active in decision making.
- Help define scope, goals and deliverables.
- Coordinate deliveries of specialized products.
- Work with the construction team throughout projects to solve and address any problems or issues.
- Distribute all deficiencies and follow up as necessary to ensure timely completion of deficiency work.
- Deal with all warranty related issues.
- Identify all items that do not fall in scope under contract.
- Communicate with the client and review change orders and/or extra bill items.
- Work with the estimating team to establish costs of change orders.
- Manage systems affected by change order including, updating PO's, updating LMN, communicating with accounting to update QuickBooks estimate.
- Create and distribute site instructions to inform Foreman of change in scope.
- Review schedule weekly and communicate with clients, vendors and subcontractors of any changes and/or updates.
- Maintain project related records, including contracts and change orders.
- Review and approve supplier invoices related to a project and compare to estimate.
- Work with the project team to investigate project variances and submit variance reports to management.
- Maintain client relationships reinforcing the company's commitment to continuously addressing their needs and interests.
- Work collaboratively with other parties (ie design and estimating) to accomplish client goals.
- Build, support and maintain the Landform culture and core values.
Who you are:
- Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in a related field.
- 13 years of related experience.
- Strong Computer skills and literacy in scheduling, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet software including MS Power Point, MS Word, and MS Excel.
- Experience with Google Suite, LMN and QuickBooks software would be considered an asset
- General understanding of a project lifecycle including start up construction processes and requirements.
- Understanding of and ability to read plans and specifications.
- Ability to contribute positively to and flourish in a team focused environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and problemsolving abilities.
- Dealing professionally and fairly with all subcontractors and vendors.
