    Description

    The Village of Arbour Trails located in Guelph, Ontario has an exciting opportunity for a Chaplain to join their team. This is a contract position for a total of 60 hours, per month, in Retirement.

    As a new Chaplain joining our village, you will:

    Support and embrace our resident-centred social culture and be proud to deliver and support comprehensive spiritual wellness programs to our residents. You will work as key members of our village and neighbourhood multidisciplinary teams to understand residents', Neighbourhood and overall village needs to development of programs that enhance Village life.

    Working closely with our Director of Recreation, you will engage our residents, team members and wider village community. You are responsible for the overall ongoing programming, development and management of the spiritual care/wellness program, including special spiritual programs, facilitation of ongoing communication with residents' home churches, and coordination of spiritual care volunteers for special programs.

    To be successful as our new Chaplain, you will:

  • Have theological training from a recognized organization and be ordained or licensed by a faith group.
  • Be excited by our objectives, our Village philosophy and the family values that shape all aspects of life in a Schlegel Village.
  • Have the ability to assess spiritual needs in a sensitive manner.
  • Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members.
  • Have excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills, including counseling skills.
  • It would be an asset if our new Chaplain has:

  • Previous experience providing multi faith, spiritual care in a senior living community and/or with the elderly in the community.
  • A current Heart Save level of CPR/First Aide (or a willingness to obtain).
