Reporting to the Manager

  • Materials, the
    Aircraft Materials Coordinator will be responsible for the overall in and out flow of all WestJet Technical and Non-Technical inventory while providing highlevel customer service in a friendly and efficient manner to all WestJet Tech Ops personnel. As part of the Procurement department, the Aircraft Materials Coordinator will be supporting our Business Unit partners in ensuring that aircraft tools, parts, shop supplies and information is readily available by ensuring inventory levels are maintained while optimizing cost and storage space, as well as sourcing part and packaging.

Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for providing customer service to all Technical Operations personnel
  • Responsible for supporting our Business Unit partners in ensuring that aircraft tools, parts, shop supplies and information is readily available
  • Responsible for ensuring inventory levels are accurately maintained while being mindful of cost, storage space and material requirements at all bases within the WestJet network
  • Responsible for the overall in and out flow of all WestJet Technical and nontechnical inventory
  • Ensure all Dangerous Goods Materials are handled in accordance with Transportation of Dangerous Goods Guidelines and IATA Dangerous Goods Shipping Requirements (upon certification)
  • Ensure all inventory transactions are accurately recorded in the Computer Tracking System
  • Responsible for packaging and preparation of materials for shipping
  • Responsible for ensuring all materials are stored in accordance with the original manufacturing storage guidelines
  • Responsible for requesting parts, part alternatives and related equipment, in collaboration with our procurement team, when shortages arrive, to minimize all aircraft on ground situations

What you will bring to the team:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience working in a Stores Warehousing environment including best inventory management practices
  • A valid Alberta Driver License (Class 5) and have a clean driver's abstract
  • Must be able to obtain a Transport Canada Security Clearance as well as an Airport Vehicle Operator's License within 6 months of start date
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs repetitively, in addition, must be able to meet physical demands of an environment where you will be walking, climbing and bending repetitively
  • Must be able to work shift work including night shift
  • Inventory Management Accredited Program diploma is an asset
