  • Position Summary:
Reporting to the Registration Program and Degree Evaluation Manager, the Degree Evaluation Administrator is responsible for building and testing academic programs in the online myProgress tool, used University-wide to support academic advising of undergraduate and graduate students

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Perform and organize activities to support the daily operations of the unit.
  • Implement administrative procedures or systems that are moderately complex in support of the faculty, department or unit's operations and ensure activities meet or exceed established quality requirements.
  • Administer activities related to academic student records and liaise with faculties and units.
  • Establish and foster effective working relationships by identifying needs and providing support in the delivery of services. Assess and resolve administrative problems. When appropriate, inform supervisor and formulate recommendations.
  • Attend meetings.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities

Three or more years' experience in a customer service-related field in a post-secondary education environment preferred. Strong oral and written communications skills with ability to react to customers quickly, accurately, and congenially. Excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and a high level of organization. Proven ability to work effectively as a team member and independently.

Experience in student records, familiarity with program and course approval processes, academic advising, and government reporting within a University environment preferred.

Strong knowledge and understanding of the Student Information System (Banner, Minerva) and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of HTML, SQL, or other programming or database languages an asset. Demonstrated strong project management and presentation skills. Ability to analyze and interpret data and make independent decisions. An ability to troubleshoot, identify, and address technical or student records issues. Cross-cultural communication skills and experience working with diverse communities.


Knowledge of French and English:

McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.

The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level #3 on a scale of 0-4.
