Plains has a great opportunity for a highly motivated student to join our Sarnia NGL Fractionation team for a 4-month term position beginning in May 1, 2023.

The opportunity is in our Mechanical Maintenance Department working with a mix of Apprentice and Journeyman Millwrights.


Responsibilities:


  • Follow Plains Midstream Canada's 10 life rule policy;
  • Be adequately rested and fit for work prior to starting shift;
  • Comply with Plains Midstream drug and alcohol policies;
  • Promote and participate in "the Safety Awareness culture" through the use and awareness of the Authorization to Work and Job Hazard Analysis processes.
  • Satisfactorily complete all assigned HSSE, regulatory and companyspecified training requirements;
  • With supervision, complete repairs and overhauls of rotating equipment such as pumps fans and compressors.
  • Complete Routine maintenance and replacement of valves and other pressure boundary equipment.
  • Participate in Preventative Maintenance Program and support the further improvement of the program

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in fulltime studies in a postsecondary institution, working towards a Mechanical Technician Diploma.

Interns must be able and willing to relocate themselves to Sarnia and reside within 100KM of plant for the entire duration of the work term; Both formal and non-formal co-op students are eligible to apply; Previous work terms are considered an asset; A self-starter who is driven to learn; Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment; Demonstrated strong analytical and organizational skills; Proficiency with MS Office including Excel, Word and Outlook; Proven flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing business conditions; Excellent computer and communication skills and; Ability to work well within a team environment and under mínimal supervisionCompliance with the Company's drug and alcohol policy including pre-employment D&A testing.
