The Glencoe Club is a private, family-oriented sports and social club located in the Elbow Park neighborhood of Calgary, Alberta.

Our facility boasts a full-service food & beverage department as well as eight sport facilities.

These facilities include curling, bowling, skating, aquatics, squash, tennis, badminton, climbing centre, fitness centre, indoor playground, pro shop, wellness centre, physiotherapy, childcare, and registered preschool.

We are seeking a Full Time Facilities Manger.

You will develop and monitor a leadership team and staff focused on delivering a high level of Service that meet or exceed member expectations.

The Facilities Manager will be responsible for member experience, fiscal responsibility and human resources of the reporting departments.

You will lead the development of annual operating and capital budgets in the areas and be a key part of the strategic planning process for continuous success in all reporting areas.

The Facilities Manager will deliver exceptional experiences in all that we do and will constantly aspire to create a second home environment for our members, guests and employees.


Responsibilities:


  • Oversees Maintenance, Housekeeping, Laundry, Shipping & Receiving, and Ice & Grounds departments
  • Controls all aspects of the Club's mechanical facilities including, but not limited to the Energy Management, HVAC, ice plant, electrical and plumbing
  • Acts as project manager on designated projects
  • Provides expert guidance, direction, and support regarding the development and planning of future facilities works
  • Provides expertise on equipment, processes and laws relating to the plant and building within Alberta and the City of Calgary while ensuring the safety of Staff, Members and their Guests, Suppliers, and Contractors
  • Maintains sound knowledge of and familiarity with the Club's operations, activities, and programming logistics, communications to Staff and Members regarding disruptions, changes or other associated updates
  • Provides leadership, policies, procedures and processes to control and reduce operating expenses, while providing comfortable, convenient environments
  • Secures proposals for annual service provider contracts
  • Detects and eliminates, or reports for correction, all physical hazards, and unsafe conditions immediately by completing a safety work order
  • Ensures Club Staff are trained in applicable Safety and Fire regulations
  • Maintains the Club's drawings and blueprints in an orderly, effective manner
  • Maintains active involvement in the accomplishment of the accident prevention and reduction objective assigned to the Department
  • Conducts orientation for all new employees before they start work

Qualifications:


  • A proven track record, with minimum of 5 years in a supervisory or management capacity at a private club or sport/recreation facility
  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in business, recreation, or a trade
  • Experience in the oversight and delivery of the organizations and supervision of repairs, maintenance and facilityrelated projects and has budgetary oversight of the department
  • Excellent communication, writing and public speaking skills
  • A diplomatic personality able to foster relationships with members, Committees and employees
  • Experience in administration of facilities management
  • Proven ability to enhance performance through Human resources management effective delegation, goal setting, coaching, empowerment, and recognition
  • High standards of ethics, honesty, and integrity
  • Ability to influence progress through cooperation, conflict resolution, and facilitation
  • Innovative approach through critical thinking, collaboration, and intelligent risk taking
  • Strong business acumen complimented by financial and entrepreneurial skills
This is a Permanent Year-round Full Time position. The successful applicant must have flexible availability.


The successful applicant will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector background check, and an online Respect in the Workplace certification.
