To support us on our journey, Sinai Health System is looking for a
Laboratory Aide to support our
Mount Sinai Fertility at our
Mount Sinai Hospital Campus.


The successful applicant has basic understanding of human reproductive biology and preferably assisted reproductive technology (ART).

The overall role entails documentation of stored samples in MSFs electronic medical records system, eIVF, accessioning samples and sending the paper charts for scanning as well as coordinating the documentation project.

Analysis of genetic information and evaluation of results data based on laboratory reports is an important part of the accessioning work.


Responsibilities

  • Managing the project of documenting cryostored samples in eIVF.
  • Accessioning cryostored samples.
  • Analyzing genetic information and evaluating laboratory results.
  • Entering sample documentation into EMR and organizing according to genetic data.
  • Organizing paper charts for scanning.
  • Managing manifest records.
  • Cooperation with Andrology and Embryology team regarding the whole project.
  • Some technical and instrument monitoring will be required.


  • Job Requirements

  • Successful completion of a Bachelor of Science degree in a related field (e.g. biological science, reproductive biology, animal science) from an accredited education institution.
  • Able to understand and use genetic information for informed accessioning of biological samples.
  • Good knowledge of Windows and standard IT systems, and ability to utilize information technology.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate collaboratively and effectively in a complex environment, with both internal and external stakeholders and partners.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, adaptability, proven attention to detail, time management, program planning and evaluation skills.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history.
