    Description

    What you'll do:

    Operating in a diverse and highly competitive retail environment, the Sales Representative, Agro is responsible for driving sales and profitability. This position is responsible for working collaboratively with others to grow business and identify new business opportunities.

    The Sales Representative will perform responsibilities in alignment with our Core Values and Brand. Responsibilities include:

  • Understanding and following Westview Co-op's Health and Safety Program and promoting a culture of safety
  • Providing professional, people-first, service to our Members and Guest and living by our Brand expectations through our "You're at Home Here" motto
  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients
  • Maintain good relationships with key crop input suppliers and territory representatives
  • Identify and pursue sales opportunities in the agricultural market
  • Conduct the following; sales presentations, product demonstrations, field meetings, farm calls, cooperative product trials, agronomy events, marketing support and crop planning services
  • Work with current or prospective clients in making sound crop production and risk management decisions, predominantly focusing on crop planning, seed selection, fertility, weed, disease, insect and harvest management
  • Execute on marketing plans in order to meet or exceed established sales and margin targets
  • Provide regular reports on sales activities
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in the agricultural industry
  • Provide feedback on clients needs and market trends
  • 50% - 60% (day) travel is required within the assigned Sales Territory
  • Provide exceptional service
  • Other responsibilities/projects will be assigned as needed.

    Who you are:

    Grade 12 or Equivalent with a preference for post-secondary education (business diploma or degree). Previous progressive and successful sales experience. Commitment to ongoing development in the industry and relevant designations/knowledge (agronomy, chemical, seed, crop production). CCA, Pag or equivalent experience preferred.

  • The hours for this position will depend on Operational Requirements.

    This position will support the Hanna, AB and Consort, AB Co-op Agro locations as required.
