Procurement Manager


Location:

Work Hours:
Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM


About the role:


Reporting to the General Manager, the Procurement Manager will be responsible for execution of strategic procurement in sourcing, negotiating and coordinating of products, accurately maintaining and updating appropriate departments with orders, confirmations, revisions and receiving information while acting as a liaison between internal partners and suppliers.

This will include tracking, managing and maintaining purchasing related documentation, maintaining purchasing files and records.

You will have a strong understanding of procurement and vendor management processes as well as strong knowledge of industry and market conditions.


Responsibilities:


  • Establish an industry leading procurement function within the business
  • Work crossfunctionally with business stakeholders to assess operational needs and contribute meaningfully to the development of procurement procedures and brand strategies for our various business units.
  • Conduct and support research, analyses, and provide recommendations in several areas, including but not limited to current purchase mix, sourcing strategy development, RFI/RFP development, quote/bid analyses and vendor negotiations.
  • Work with current and future vendors to get favorable rates and payment terms, including lower MOQ's and VMI terms where possible.
  • Investigate and document opportunities for cost savings within each Business Units relating to vendors and procurement.
  • Help source and qualify potential suppliers and service providers.
  • Understand RFP requirements and communicate requirements to potential vendors and service providers.
  • Compile information from key stakeholders to support filling in RFP templates (brief, RFP, contacts, timelines, scorecard etc.).
  • Initiate NDA's and track submissions along with supplier/service provider followups to request for information and answer any questions as deemed necessary.
  • Summarize RFP submissions, review cost benefit analysis and negotiate and draft vendor/service provider contracts with the CPO and providing costefficient recommendations as necessary.
  • Document and track costing for all suppliers/service providers, generate monthly reports.
  • Work with the Supply Chain Team to create purchase orders and purchase order procedures.
  • Process daily inventory requests while providing order updates to relative parties.
  • Support, educate and mentor peers and colleagues on the benefits of an established central procurement function
  • Other related tasks as required

Job Requirements:

  • 3 years of relevant experience in a fast paced, highvolume environment
  • Experience in Supply Chain / Procurement / statistical forecast or related field preferred
  • Knowledge of production procedures as it relates to schedule models, forecast and inventory
  • Strong analytical aptitude in identifying trends and solutions


  • College/University

  • Degree/diploma, or bachelor's degree in engineering, science, administration, supply chain operations or related discipline
  • Computer literacy in working with Microsoft office suite
  • Demonstrated leadership and vision in coaching and mentoring staff groups
  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask and pivot priorities
  • Strong communication and collaborative skills with different departments at all levels
  • Able to translate strategic objectives into actionable plans
