We are hiring for a new Supervisor our current Supervisor is moving out East sniff, sniff.

Trust Child Care Centre is a family owned and innovative child care centre in the heart of Toronto with infant, toddler, preschool and kindergarten programs.

We are located in Summerhill - a quiet walking neighborhood. We are 5 mins from the Summerhill subway station, very close to coffee and an lunch shops. We are CWELCC participants located at Yonge and St. Clair.

Under the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA): The supervisor is responsible for the daily program plan, staff supervision and ongoing care of the children. The supervisor must be a Registered Early Childhood Educator and approved by the Ministry of Education.

Summary of Position
**The Supervisor must have a high degree of emotional and physical stamina, a high level of empathy, maturity, patience, objectivity and have the capacity to form meaningful relationships with children and their families, staff and volunteers, based on a genuine interest in helping them.

The Supervisor must ensure procedures carry out the requirements under the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), policy decisions of the Trust Child Care Centre Owners and fulfill the goals and objectives of Trust Child Care Centre.
**Duties of the Position

Ensures the Centre complies with all Legal Requirements
-
arranges for sufficient staffing of the Centre to meet requirements in the Child Care and Early Years Act:


  • recognizes and has the working knowledge of personnel and organizational policies and has the ability to operate the program within the provisions of these policies:
-
recognizes, documents and takes action in case of suspected abuse, illness or accident, reporting the incident as a serious occurrence:


  • reports any Serious Occurrences to Children's Services and to the Owners:
-
adheres to Public Health and Child Care and Early Years Act regulations and requirements for licensing:


  • Child Care and Early Years Act inspection in November:
-
submits individual Serious Occurrence Reports to Children's Services and prepares annual Serious Occurrence Report by end of xxx to Children's Services.**:


  • follows Trust Child Care Centre's Occupational Health & Safety Policy adhering to Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB) requirements follows Workplace Violence and Harassment Policies and Procedures:

follows Child Care Supervision Policy for Volunteers and Students:


  • arranges for Annual Playground Inspection each MONTH

To comply with Legal Requirements, the Supervisor may share the following duties with the Director and Administrative Assistant:


  • informs the owners of all visits and reports from licensing authorities:

submits information required for annual provincial license inspection and renewal:


  • Liaises with water testing provider regarding lead testing of water:

Liaises with fire safety inspection provider & holds monthly Fire Drills and keeps report on file ensures attendance sheets are updated:


  • ensures record of staff hours worked are kept up to date:

prepares and maintains school environment and records in readiness at all times and for annual Ministry of Education check in

Administration of Medication in each classroom:

College of ECE membership:

Epi-pens and puffers are current:


  • Fire Drills and posted Fire Plan:
