Job Description:


We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Scale Clerk to join our team
Monday-Wednesday from 7:00am-5:00pm, Thursday-Friday 7:00am-6:00pm, and every other Saturday from 8:00am-4:00pm (you will have 1 day off during the week if working the Saturday).


This position is a temporary (12 month) contract.


As a Scale House Operator, you will be responsible for managing the weighing and recording of incoming and outgoing metal materials.

Your role will involve accurately documenting weights, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing exceptional customer service. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities:


  • Operate the scale system to accurately weigh incoming and outgoing metal materials
  • Record weights and relevant information in the computer system or on paper records
  • Greet and assist customers in a friendly and professional manner Provide information about our services, answer inquiries, and address customer concerns or issues
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including weights, material types, and customer information
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety protocols
  • Verify the identification and documentation of drivers, carriers, and vehicles while Issuing receipts, and processing payments accurately
  • Communicate effectively with internal departments, drivers, and customers to coordinate operations and resolve any discrepancies or issues

Qualifications:


  • Previous experience as a scale house operator strong customer service setting
  • Knowledge of weighing systems, equipment, and procedures
  • Familiarity with metal recycling processes, materials, and specifications is advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recording and documenting information
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle cash transactions and maintain accurate records
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities in a fastpaced environment
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must be available to work
    every other Saturday from
    8:00am4:00pm
