- Loading, unloading and delivering freight.
- Completing all necessary paperwork and phone calls.
- Ensuring all trucks and equipment are in good operating condition.
- Understand customers' needs, service those needs, and maintain and develop positive business relationships with customers.
- Coordinating and scheduling employee resources.
- Directly supervises few employees in the terminal.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work. Duties also include performing performance appraisals, rewarding and disciplining employees and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Support, enforce and model all health, safety & environmental rules, policies, procedures and government regulatory standards.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must have Class 1/AZ drivers licence with two years of experience
- Experience in a managerial/supervisory roll
- Dock/freight handling experience
- Must be physically fit
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Strong customer service skills and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Superior time management and attention to detail
- Ability to supervise and manage several tasks and/or employees at once to achieve organizational objectives
- Computer literate; working knowledge of Microsoft suite and email.
