Our new mill is 250K sq ft and features the latest technology
and machinery, which will enable us to improve our millwork solutions and satisfy the demands of our customers.


One of the advantages of the new mill, located in Woodbridge, Ontario, is the expanded production capability of our patented Metrie Complete product line, which provides pre-finished moulding and trim that are simple and fast to install.

The opening of our flagship Toronto mill reflects our commitment to being North America's most trusted millwork supplier.

Some fun facts about our new mill:

  • With our upgraded machinery, the new line will run 20% faster than any of our previous lines.
  • We will be able to produce enough to wrap around the circumference of the earth annually.

What You'll Do:


As an Operations Excellence Leader will be involved in the identification, analysis, and execution of operational improvement opportunities at Toronto MDF Manufacturing.

You will partner with the Plant Management team to identify, lead, manage, and execute Lean improvement projects from conception to completion.


Location:
You will be based out of Toronto MFG plant


Reporting Relationship:
You will report directly to the Director of Manufacturing.

At a high level you will:

  • Improve manufacturing safety, quality, service, cost, and delivery lead times.
  • Develop & implement continuous improvement plans.
  • Identify improvement opportunities (long and short term)
  • Teach Lean / CI tools & methodologies.
  • Facilitate Kaizen/CI Events
  • Share your learnings and Kaizens by visiting other manufacturing facilities (Calgary, Edmonton, Rocklin, Ferndale, Surrey),15% Travel Possibilities

Key Accountabilities:

The most critical outcomes for this role are to:

  • Demonstrate leadership in implementing change to institute operational best practices and reduce process variance by driving continuous improvement through Lean activities.
  • Support the PLANT in all efforts to achieve safety, quality, service, delivery, and cost performance resulting in meeting or exceeding business commitments.
  • Build and maintain the foundation for continuous improvement.
  • Teach Lean tools, including Kaizen, 5S, TPM, etc., to all levels of the organization.
  • Foster a culture of moving forward in a rapid change environment and continuously assuring buyin and ownership at all levels.

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.


  • Lean Six Sigma

  • Green Belt and above certified.
  • You have previous direct supervisory/management experience.

It would be an added bonus if you have:

  • A post-secondary diploma/degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience with the startup of new facilities and implementing 5S layout/practices through reorganizing.
  • Experience within the distribution or manufacturing industry preferably managing green field projects or reorganizing the plant set up.
