Otis Interiors is a small design and build firm based in Guelph, ON looking to hire a carpenter with experience in renovations.

Otis Interiors services Guelph, the Tri-Cities and surrounding areas (Rockwood, Fergus, Elora, etc ) providing high-end, design intensive renovations and re-models to single family homes.

With our focus on design and quality execution, we are looking for a carpenter experienced and competent in the world of residential renovations who is looking to challenge themselves with increasingly detailed projects and scopes.

As a carpenter with Otis Interiors, you will be responsible for leading and implementing carpentry and general construction tasks on-site.

This position includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks;

• Leading a small crew of 12 people (including apprentices and skilled labourers) to implement carpentry and general construction tasks within the scope of residential renovations
• Reading and executing details from plans and engineer/architect drawings
• Conduct material takeoffs and work with site supervisor/project managers to ensure material is procured and available onsite at appropriate times and that the construction schedule is being followed as it relates to having site ready for required trades as needed
• 3+ years experience years in the world of residential renovations and construction

- a Red Seal Certification or equivalent level of training/education/experience
- a positive and enthusiastic attitude
- proactive and clear communication skills - a desire to produce the best quality product possible - an interest in continued learning and education - the ability to work independently, as well as teach and mentor less experienced team members as required
- the ability to work on projects and tasks of various levels of difficulty and duration
- experience using construction software (ie: Buildbook, BuilderTrend, etc ).
- a reliable vehicle and valid driver's license with a relatively clear driving record.

As a carpenter with Otis Interiors, you will work with the design team and our construction Site Supervisors/Project Managers from our 'Project Launch' meeting through demolition, construction and finishing, to project completion.

Your role will include a variety of tasks and responsibilities within the residential construction space as we implement renovation projects that are each uniquely designed for the specific homeowner we are working for at the time.

You will represent Otis Interiors on-site and should do so professionally and respectably while working in other's homes.
