DIRECTOR OF CARE (NURSING) CLERK


Reporting to the Director of Care and Assistant Director of Care, the incumbent performs clerical, receptionist and scheduling duties within the Nursing Department.

Will also liaise and integrate nursing support functions within the broader administrative functions through the Office Manager.

What you'll be doing

  • Performs a variety of clerical duties including typing, photocopying and filing Nursing reports.
  • Maintains all aspects of the Nursing Department staffing schedule.
  • Issues Care Conference notices to Family members.
  • Orders office supplies and ensures all Care Centres are adequately stocked.
  • Assists in the development of biweekly payroll.
  • Assists in accounts payable as required.
  • Receives and directs all incoming telephone calls and greets and directs all visitors as required.
  • Provides support for Restorative Care Program through the DOC and A/DOC and MDS Coordinator and also supports the Documentation Coordinator as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
What you bring

  • Secondary School Graduation Diploma.
  • Minimum 1 year Community College Diploma/Certificate in Business Management.
  • Minimum 1 year Community College Diploma/Certificate in a clinical related program an asset.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a LTC Home setting.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience with scheduling of staff.
  • Knowledge of Payroll techniques/principles.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Knowledge of ONA and CAW Collective Agreements.
  • Ability to present information verbally and /or in writing clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff.
  • Proven integrity through open and honest interactions with Nursing Management and staff.
  • Superb organizational, planning, time management and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to treat information in a confidential manner.
