The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine_ _(FMV) of the _Université de Montréal _(UdeM) aims to meet society's needs
by training veterinarians and experts in animal health and welfare, food safety, and public health to the
highest standards. As an internationally recognized veterinary institution, the FMV is committed to
excellence, innovation, and leadership in animal health through teaching, research, and service to the
community.

The FMV supports the agri-food industry through its Certificat en technologie et innocuité des aliments

  • CTIA) program. The CTIA's mission is to train professionals in various inspection methods, standards,
benchmarks, risk analysis, and quality assurance programs for food processing and marketing. In addition

As a professor, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the excellence of the Faculty of

Veterinary Medicine
through your teaching and your research activities. You will also ensure the visibility of your discipline and
actively participate in the operation of a renowned institution


As such, you will:
-
Participate in teaching, mainly at the CTIA, as well as at the DVM and graduate levels;
>
Carry out research and secure research funding independently and as a team member; collaboration

with other researchers in the Faculty is encouraged;
>
Supervise and mentor graduate students and/or interns and, where applicable, laboratory staff in the

completion of research projects or contracts.
>
Participate in science communication and outreach activities (publications, presentations, etc.);
>
Contribute to the functioning of the institution.


To succeed in this role, you will need:
>
Hold a Ph.
D. degree in microbiology or any other field relevant to the position;
>
A degree in Veterinary Medicine (D.M.V.) or equivalent would be an asset;
-
Solid teaching experience at the university level and proven skills in implementing pedagogical
innovation initiatives;
-
Research experience in a relevant field, with demonstrated expertise in the safety of foods of animal
origin and an interest in interdisciplinary research;
-
An adequate knowledge of the French written and spoken language
or a strong commitment to
mastering the proficiency level required, in accordance with Université de Montréal's Language Policy.
