Planning and Development Coordinator to join our growing team.


Job Summary:


Reporting to the Director, Planning and Development, the Planning and Development Coordinator will effectively coordinate the planning, development, and implementation of plans and projects across the portfolio.


Job Accountabilities:


  • Coordinate multiple concurrent land development projects of various phases, scales, and complexity.
  • Assist with financial analysis for development and planning opportunities.
  • Provide land use policy and bylaw reviews in support of active and prospective development projects.
  • Coordinate project budgets, schedules, and development programs.
  • Complete coordination and planning with various design consultants and subcontractors, including, but not limited to: architects, engineers, landscape architects and interior designers, as well as other preconstruction disciplines such as geomatic, geotechnical and environmental services.
  • Coordinate consultant scopes of work and proposals, and coordinate all aspects of contract administration processes.
  • Coordinate with trades and construction personnel to effectively execute projects
  • Coordinate team assignments, and develop project communication, documentation, and associated administrative tasks such as project accounting and reporting.
  • Coordinate all aspects of jurisdictional approval processes, including, but not limited to, Site Plan Approvals, Development Permits, Building Permits, and all other associated approval requirements.
  • Liaise with permitting officials, including municipal, provincial, or federal agencies.
  • Coordinate, conduct, and attend project meetings.
  • Prepare meeting minutes and agendas, and assist in project scheduling.
  • Assist in marketing and business development efforts.
  • Operate with the highest level of confidentiality and integrity on all files.

Job Qualifications and Experience:


  • Undergraduate degree or diploma in architecture, planning, development, engineering, business, or related discipline.
  • Minimum two (2) years of professional experience in land use planning, architecture, engineering, construction, real estate, or similar profession.
  • Proven track record of problemsolving skills and informed decision making.
  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in coordinating and facilitating client, consultant, and jurisdictional relationships.
  • Strong graphic and visualization skills: experience in Adobe Suite software is considered an asset.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel capability.
  • Related professional designation including MCIP, LPP, P.ENG., PMP, MRAIC, or similar is considered an asset.
