Job Purpose:_
The major gifts & planned giving specialist will allow LCC to attain a greater fundraising revenue and pipeline. The role offers a tailored approach to professional development for planned giving and major gifts.
Specific responsibilities include:
MAJOR GIFTS
- Overseeing a portfolio of 50 major donors & prospects
- Implement strategies that will cultivate new donors and convert them into major donors
- Implement a strategy to develop Class Bursaries for Alumni returning to campus in celebration of their grad year milestone
- Participate in each step of the donor pipeline including identification, qualification through research, cultivation, briefing, solicitation, request for support; and prompt follow up, stewardship, and recognition
- Implement and participate in the departmental portfolio review process and be a partner in maintaining an organized system for cultivation and donor stewardship by updating constituent records, as appropriate
PLANNED GIVING
- Develop and implement a planned giving strategy
- Establish objectives with KPIs each year and develop a report on a legacy pipeline for LCC
- Work closely with professional advisors and other charitable organizations named as beneficiaries
- Completes personalized meaningful interactions with each donor by implementing wellorganized engagement plans and touchpoints
- Prepare updates to be shared with the Director of Advancement documenting successes, milestones, challenges, and support needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
- 2 to 5 years of fundraising or sales experience
- Ability to set goals strategically and oversee execution
- High level of discretion and ethical approach to fundraising
- Ability to work crossfunctionally with various internal and external constituents
- Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
