Position Overview
Reporting to the Survey Team Leader - and working a two (2) weeks on / two (2) weeks off rotation at the Ekati Diamond Mine, the Surveyor will provide consistent, high-quality work in all aspects of surveying required to support underground and surface production at the Ekati Diamond Mine.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
- Participate and advocate all Health, Safety, Environment and Security programs and ensure that Safety is imparted as the number one priority in all aspects of operations and programs;
- Layout designed surface drill patterns and surveying the pattern as actually drilled;
- Survey mining areas to monitor mining advances and to calculate month end volumes;
- Underground survey duties including asbuilts, advancement of survey control, markups and grade control in active headings;
- Calculate line and grade for operations showing vertical and horizontal details on issued prints;
- Survey surface stockpiles and other infrastructure related to UG/Surface mining activities;
- Regular use of UAVs to perform stockpile and pit surveys
- Participate in and promote regular and effective communication with Production Planning, Geology and Mine Operations toward meeting the shortterm mining goals at Ekati;
- Prioritize and coordinate survey functions for mine operations, mine development projects, and environmental programs to meet daytoday operating requirements;
- Ensure that mine survey record maps, plans, plots, profiles and survey reports are accurate and up to date.
Education/Experience
- Diploma in Surveying or Geomatics or a tertiary qualification in a relevant surveying or engineering discipline;
- Minimum of five years relevant post graduate experience;
- Competency in mining software packages (Vulcan and AutoCAD or similar);
- Advanced UAV pilot license would be considered an asset.

Additional Information
Arctic provides travel to and from the Ekati mine site out of Calgary, Yellowknife, and other northern fly points.
