Reporting to the Senior Operations you will be responsible for the daily management and coordination of all Route Supervisors, managing daily route schedules/staffing, and ensuring compliance with labour, safety, environmental and corporate policies, regulations and terms and conditions under our customer's contractual obligations.
The Operations Manager has complete responsibility as the Leader of his/her assigned territory, managing recruiting, and will have a focus on maintaining health and safety.
What will you do?
- Manage daily operational processes and support Route Supervisors;
- Ensure service excellence, people management, and labour management;
- Oversee collections operations and the daily dispatching of trucks;
- Manage progressive discipline and absenteeism program;
- Manage driver training on operating procedures as well as the health & safety initiatives to ensure compliance and improvement targets are continually met.
- Ensure daily roll out and end of day procedures are followed as laid out by the Senior Operations Manager;
- Manage the onboarding of new hires, working with HR and employment agencies;
- Manage and complete any type of operational reporting required on a daily basis;
What will you bring?
- Minimum 5 years' managerial experience in logistics or collection operations preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of prior supervisory experience.
- Valid DZ or AZ license with air brake endorsement an asset.
- Advanced computer skills with proficiency in the use of MS Office; Excel is an asset.
- Excellent time management, organizational, multitasking, interpersonal, and teambuilding skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Previous experience utilizing RFID GPS, GIS, route management, fuel, and fleet/maintenance management is an asset.
- Knowledge of provincial labour, transportation, and environmental regulations.
