We currently have a
Temporary Full-time (until approx. October 2023) opportunity for a
Social Worker in the
D- Orthopedic and Neurosurgical Unit at our
Bayview campus.

**Hours of Work: Weekdays:
Days, 8 hour shifts, as per schedule

Summary of Duties

To provide a full range of social work services to patients and their families admitted to D5 primarily for Neurosurgery, as well as Orthopedic Surgery in the Tory Trauma Program.

This includes psycho-social assessments, crisis intervention, counselling to patients and families, discharge planning, linkage to community resources, end of life care, Advance Care planning, team consultation and collaboration.

Qualifications/Skills

Masters of Social Work degree required
Member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers in good standing
Minimum two (2) years of experience working in a Hospital setting, preferably in trauma
Exceptional communication skills required
Knowledge of the HCCA and SDM act
Familiarity with issues of capacity and consent
Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
Ability to be a team player as well as selfdirected
Ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities in a fastpaced environment
Commitment to student education
