Job Description:

The Financial Reporting Analyst is an integral member of the Finance Department. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, this individual will contribute to the accounting cycle and financial reporting.

The Financial Reporting Analyst will be primarily responsible for collaborating with operational leadership and finance colleagues to deliver accurate, timely and highly valued accounting and financial support.


Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible for routine preparation and submission of financial reporting requirements to head office, and external and internal users.
  • Responsible for financial analysis, variance analysis and reconciliations to support business areas and decision making.
  • Assists with monthend closing and reporting to head office for specified entities.
  • Assists with monthly reporting to internal users, Geneva headquarters (GVA), KPIs and financial reports for senior management.
  • Responsible for weekly cash flow reporting and cash management requests.
  • Responsible for journal entry creation and data management (GL) in SAP systems.
  • Responsible for invoice entry creation and management for entities in QuickBooks.
  • Assists with periodic reporting such as annual budget, midyear reporting and yearend reporting.
  • Assists with periodic reports and analysis for head office and government entities (corporate taxes, sales tax, etc.).
  • Assists, when required, in the daytoday accounting operations.
  • Assists with the yearend financial audit, and other government audits.
  • Responsible for the necessary clearings and reconciliations as advised by the head office.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement related to financial processes and assist with implementation of proper internal controls.
  • Assists with any additional departmental tasks in line with business needs as determined.

Qualifications:

  • Completed bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA designation or working towards a designation (an asset)
years of experience in accounting or other relevant experience.

  • Strong work ethic and flexibility to meet dynamic business needs.
  • Advanced technical skills in MS Excel and ERP aptitude.
  • Knowledge of SAP (an asset).
  • Demonstrates leadership and entrepreneurship.
  • Strong in analytics and financial reporting.
  • Excellent organizational skills and detailoriented.
  • Effective time management skills to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Works effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrates a high level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Effective communicator in both written and spoken English and French.
