BASIC FUNCTION:
Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for, but not limited to,

supervising the installation, repairs and maintenance of machinery, equipment, physical structures and

electrical systems of the Cambridge Coatings Plant.


PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Responsible for maintaining the IATF Procedures and Instructions within the department.
  • Develop an annual maintenance plan, ensure proper completion of scheduling of major plant
projects, plant shutdown maintenance program, quoting of estimated hours of downtime required

for repairing breakdowns and provide necessary updates to facility management.

  • Ensures procedures are in place to properly expedite leadtime items with suppliers and
responsible for inventory control system with maximum and minimum limits for all plant

equipment.

  • Oversee the implementation of ongoing and preventative maintenance and AMPC / Megamation.
  • Authorizes all maintenance related purchase orders.
  • Responsible for the scheduling and assigning of daily duties of all employees in the department
and reviews completed work for conformance to standards and to ensure production is on

schedule.

  • Recommends outside contractors as required. Ensure compliance of all maintenance personnel
in regards to scheduling of outside contractors within the Company guidelines.

  • Responsible for maintaining safe working conditions and practices to ensure the safety of the
employees. Ensures that all employees know how to perform each job assigned to them in an

efficient manner and that they are fully aware of the correct and safe way to operate their

equipment. Ensures that all employees are instructed on the use and comply with Company

standards on the use of personal protective equipment.

  • Ensures that a proper investigation of any accident is completed and reported in a timely manner.
  • Performs workplace inspections.
  • Orders parts for repair and maintenance purposes.
  • Correcting substandard acts or conditions.
  • Conducting information sessions (safety talks, staff meetings, tail gate meetings) incident
investigations and employee training.

  • Commending employee health and safety performance.
  • Performs employee safety observations performances.
  • Responsible for maintaining excellent housekeeping in the department and all maintenance work
sites throughout the facility.

  • Develops employees by ensuring that they receive training in the areas of equipment, safety and
any other areas that will help them to excel in their assignments. Challenges the status quo,

implements creative and innovative solutions, and reviews completed work for conformance to

standards.

  • Responsible for communicating relevant information to maintenance employees (customer
related, safety, quality, etc.) by developing proper communication methods.

  • Responsible for providing clear and specific performance feedback. Developing others and
improve employees' performance through coaching, training and development activities.

  • Deliver on commitments made, treat people at all levels fairly and with respect. Responds to
employees concerns in a timely manner (general issues, safety concerns grievances, etc).

  • Ensures that when disciplinary action is required, it is carried out in accordance with the collective
agreement and procedures/policies. Answers applicable grievances at the 1st step.

  • Responsible for completing and distributing all required reports in a timely manner (P.M. reports,
safety concerns, attendance, overtime sheets, etc).

  • Authorizes employee's vacation and leave of absence (control absenteeism).
  • Ensure the standards of Section 27 of the OHSA are met.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Industrial Millwright/Mechanic trade certification, Industrial Electrician trade certification, Tool and
Die trade certification, Controls Automation certification or a solid background in industrial

maintenance involving electrical, hydraulic and mechanical processes would be an asset.

  • Familiar with automatic production equipment, robotics, PLC's, assembly welding and press shop
operations would be an asset.

  • Ideally have three or more years related supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate PC (Microsoft) based and other manufacturing related software.
  • Knowledge of Health & Safety Legislation and experience in administering collective agreements
would be an asset.


Salary:
$75,000.00-$90,478.50 per year
