Primary Objectives:

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Manager of IT will be responsible for:

  • Responsible for ensuring Pacifica's diverse and geographically distributed staff has access to Pacifica's information technology and systems required to perform their jobs.
  • Responsible for training new staff to use Pacifica's information systems.

Key Responsibilities:


I.

Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable IT resource to the organization, including
:

- monitor performance of IT systems to determine cost and productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructure;

  • IT planning, budgeting, and lifecycle management in collaboration with IT contractor;
- acting as primary agency contact for Pacifica employees for general IT issues including network, computer, software, internet, cell phone, office phone, printer and scanners system;
- overseeing service contracts with IT providers (IT support services, office phone system, mobile phones and teleconference services);
- liaising with the contracted IT providers to address issues as they arise or to revise services;
- maintaining Pacifica's IT assets inventory in collaboration with IT contractor;
- resolving IT problems for all Pacifica staff, either by his/her own action, or by tasking the IT contractor;
- receiving requests from staff for changes to hardware/software/configuration and delivering approved requests either by his/her own action or by tasking 3rd party resources;
- maintaining Pacifica Housing's website;
- insuring that backs up are completed on a regular basis; and
- managing SALTO key fob system.

Completing technical tasks:

- computer systems Tier 1 problem resolution:

  • some computer systems Tier 2 problem resolution:
- problems affecting an individual that require in-person attention or equivalent remote support tools;
- desktop hardware troubleshooting and problem resolution (workstations, laptops, monitors, thin clients, printers);
- desktop hardware installation/moves (workstations, laptops, monitors, thin clients, printers);
- user account and permissions management;
- support for office phone and fax system, liaising with contractor as necessary;
- support for mobile phones, liaising with service providers as necessary.


3. Assisting other departments in the organization as required. (Finance, HR, Property Services, Support Services, Admin etc.).
**4. Performing other related duties, as required.

5. Completing special projects and IT related duties as assigned.

Requirements:


Qualifications:
(minimum Education and Experience requirements)
:

  • Note: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered._

Education:


  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related program.

Experience:


  • 5+ years related experience (must include some IT/ computer science experience)
  • Experience with and knowledge of related software programs preferable (i.e. Microsoft Office particularly Excel, Yardi, WordPress)
  • Excellent knowledge of technical management, information analysis and of computer hardware/software systems
  • Handson experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop the IT Department
  • Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems

Additional Criteria for Role:


  • Completion of a Criminal Record Check with the Vulnerable Sector is required before employment commences.
  • Must have access to a vehicle, a valid driver's licence, and willing to acquire business class insurance.
