SAP iXp Intern - Data Scientist

Location:
Vancouver, BC (On-site)

Expected Start Date: 6 May 2024

Contract Duration: 8 months

Work Hours: 40 hours per week

The SAP Vancouver Labs is offering a paid research and innovation internship starting May 2024 for an 8 months period (with an option to extend by 4 months).

We are looking for innovative graduate and undergraduate students who are excited about pushing the state of the art in technology legal compliance tools, pattern detection & classification and data analytics by drawing on research in LLMs, machine learning, natural language processing, data mining, information visualization and other related areas.

We are located in beautiful Vancouver in the heart of Yaletown, steps away from a wide variety of restaurants, public transit, and downtown.

Develop and extend tools used in Technology Legal Compliance
Follow up on latest trends and share the knowledge among the team
Participate in project meetings to support project goals, requirements, processes, deliverables, and timelines

What you bring
We're looking for someone who takes initiative, perseveres, and stay curious. You like to work on meaningful innovative projects and are energized by lifelong learning.

Requirements:

Undergraduate, Master's or PhD student in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Machine Learning, Data Science, or Mathematics/Statistics
Strong research, analytical, and software prototyping skills
Proficient knowledge of Python
Working knowledge of prompt engineering
Commitment to 8month fulltime internship

Desired:

Familiarity with using computer programming languages such as Java and C++
Familiarity with deep learning and neural network frameworks (e.g., Pytorch, TensorFlow)
Familiarity with using data analysis tools (e.g., SciPy, Pandas), ML technologies (e.g., scikitlearn, MLflow) and latest developments in Generative AI (e.g., LLMs)
Experience developing user interfaces with HTML5, CSS and Javascript
