We are seeking a
Systems Administrator to join our team in Richmond, BC.


PURPOSE OF POSITION

TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Safety:


  • Comply with and enforces all Nortrak safety policies and regulations.
  • Wears appropriate PPE in manufacturing facilities.

Quality:


  • Adheres to Nortrak policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to voestalpine Minimum IT Security Standards and group standards, policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to industry standards and best practises.
  • Consistently provides the highest standard of IT service.

On-Time Delivery:


  • Supports and manages areas of responsibility consistently and in a timely manner.
  • Finishes assigned tasks and projects on schedule or before deadline.
  • Troubleshoots and solves hardware and software problems in a timely fashion.
  • Provides timely IT support to Nortrak employees.
  • Monitors key parameters and addresses issues promptly.

Costs:


  • Recommends necessary improvements to network hardware and software.
  • Seeks opportunities for increased efficiency in the delivery of IT based services.

People:


  • Collaborates extremely well with IT Manager, Senior Systems Administrator and Network Administrators.
  • Maintains close communication with employees and project members to ensure individual IT needs are being met.
  • Follows up on the solutions provided to users to ensure their requirements have been satisfied.
  • Provides a high level of respect for all employees, colleagues and business partners.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

OTHER RESPONSIBLITIES:


  • Supports IT Operations:
  • Data Protection Operations (Backup, Replication, Monitoring, onprem & cloud) and Disaster Recovery
  • Application Updates, Packaging and Deployment
  • Server Management (Installation, Monitoring, Patching)
  • Core Infrastructure (File Servers, Print, DHCP)
  • Server Room maintenance (UPS, AC, Env, Power, Rack, Network, Cabling)
  • Server Upgrades
  • Data Management (File shares, server storage, SAN)
  • Network Management & Implementation
  • Data Archiving
  • Permissions Management
  • Addresses voestalpine group standards and requirements in vulnerability, asset, account and license management requirements, including any new requirements.
  • Manages, plans and implements projects according to company requirements.
  • Identifies requirements and areas of opportunities.
  • Manages user accounts through the user account lifecycle.
  • Maintains Local Area Network and monitors network performance.
  • Supports Internet communications and telecom requirements.
  • Installs, configures and maintains network switches.
  • Installs, configures and maintains server room infrastructure.
  • Supports mixed technology manufacturing environments and has familiarity with Industrial Automation technologies and concepts.
  • Manages file shares and permissions adhering to protocols and data confidentiality requirements.
  • Installs, configures, and maintains workstations and network devices according to company standards.
  • All additional tasks as required.

  • Adheres to Nortrak's Safety, Quality and Environmental Procedures, Practices and Policies

QUALIFICATIONS:


Education:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other suitable discipline; or,
  • Two years of postsecondary Computer Science Diploma

Field of Experience and Certifications:


  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in System Administration
  • Microsoft MCSA
  • Cisco CCNA certification
  • VMware Certified Professional
  • AWS or Azure Professional Certification
  • Project+
