    About Niche

Niche Technology designs, develops, supports, and implements an advanced police Records Management System (RMS). Our current offering, NicheRMS, covers the full breadth of police operations as standard, out-of-the-box functionality that is available now and in live production use. It is a single, integrated operational police information management platform—all police data is organized into a single, accessible source with a set of core building blocks. This is our sole focus and line of business. Niche is a privately-owned Canadian corporation, established in 1992, that is owned and managed by its founders. Our headquarters is based in Winnipeg, MB. We have had next to zero turnover in our group, resulting in a stable and highly experienced team.

    Who are we looking for

We are looking for an experienced E-Learning Designer to join us in Winnipeg. As part of our content team, the video training specialist's primary role is to create high-quality, engaging video tutorials that demonstrate how to use our software effectively. The e-learning designer collaborates with technical writers and editors, subject matter experts, project managers, and trainers to ensure that all videos are accurate, up-to-date, and provide clear and detailed video instructions.

    • Edit and produce comprehensive, high-quality, and easy-to-understand training videos that are suitable for a range of audiences, from end-users to technical staff.
    • Review and update the existing video library to ensure accuracy and completeness.
    • Manage and prioritize simultaneous projects and adhere to documentation plans and timelines.
    • Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal video production standards and processes.
    • Work on other special projects as required (e.g., training modules, internal Niche videos).

    Qualifications

    • Minimum two years' experience creating training videos and tutorials, or similar instructional content—preferably within the software industry.
    • Post-secondary degree or diploma, preferably in Technical Communications, e-Learning, Instructional Design, Computer Science, or related field.
    • Experience with video editing software and screen recording tools, with a preference towards TechSmith Camtasia.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office applications.
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Comfortable with software applications and technology in general.
    • Highly organized with great attention to detail.
    • Strong project, time management and organizational skills.
