The Canadian location in Alliston, Ontario has been manufacturing automotive interior parts since 2015, However globally Howa is now in its 70th year, having grown as an auto parts company with over 35 facilities worldwide which includes R&D and our headquarters.

We are currently seeking a Production Team Leader that understands that their contributions are a key part of maintaining a positive and motivated work environment.


Wage:
$24.20 to start and then increase to $26.25 after 6 months


Position Overview:

Leading, prioritizing and providing direction and mentoring to production associates on all primary operations and applicable job functions.


Essential Job Functions:


  • Schedule daily production requirements
  • Monitor and ensure compliance to Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards, policies & procedures in accordance to company guidelines and legislation.
  • Permanent presence on shop floor with ongoing contact and communication with production associates
  • Daily pre and post shift communications with management and other team leader(s) as required
  • Provide regular feedback and recommendations regarding training and/or coaching of associates
  • Relieve associates during regular daily breaks, absences & vacations
  • Monitor daily production and quality outputs and report accordingly and countermeasure any shortfalls
  • Follow up on excessive downtime and implement resolution with Production Supervisor
  • Check documentation of preventative maintenance schedule for equipment & tooling
  • Initiate and follow up on maintenance requests, recurring repairs and overhauling of equipment
  • Drive improvement ideas & motivate the team.
  • Drive teamwork and problemsolving activities
  • Ensure proper training and mentoring of of new associates
  • Ensure recognition of individual and team performance

Skills / Qualifications:


  • Preferred, but not mandatory 1+ years' experience in a leadership role within a manufacturing environment. If you have automotive manufacturing industry that's a bonus
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Excellent, math skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

Education: (preferred)

Grade 12 or equivalent working experience

Other Requirements:

Rotating shifts, days/afternoons as required.
