    PURPOSE and SCOPE

    This role involves creating, planning, and executing training programs for the organization. It includes maintaining an annual training schedule covering key areas such as PME, Safety, and other soft skills. Additionally, the position involves sourcing and coordinating non-PME training, supporting outside facilitators, and interacting with different levels of the organization to identify and address training needs and coordinate employee use of the Linamar Steel courses. The role also acts as a project manager/coordinator and lead for T&D projects as needed, providing assistance in organizing, facilitating, communicating, and tracking various MacDon training programs and activities.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    The following are the main job responsibilities and priorities for this position;

  • Create annual training calendar for MacDon
  • Coordinate E1T1 and support program
  • Develop registration and tracking system to identify employees who need to be trained in various skills
  • Maintain T&D team training manual
  • This role is focused on helping to ensure compliance with training requirements in various roles
  • Source and coordinate training sessions for non-PME related training including but not limited to Safety, business skills, etc. This includes all details of planning and executing training sessions, including procuring and organizing the participants, instructors, rooms, technology (computers, projectors, software, MS Teams, Zoom, etc.), invitations, printed materials, and other required training material, tools, hardware, etc.)
  • Also includes troubleshooting issues that arise before, during and after sessions, and handling session feedback and follow-up
  • Register employees for Steel courses, communicating and coordinating efforts with employees and Linamar
  • Act as project lead to ensure consistency and accuracy of JDE – Power Bi system; including maintaining Categories, Codes, and related data
  • Maintaining accurate training planning spreadsheets
  • Maintaining accurate Training Records Reports
  • Collect, organize, and submit all required documents for training grants
  • Send new hire emails weekly and record in Onboarding spreadsheet
  • Administer the Tuition Reimbursement and NPPE programs
  • Deliver training and/or information sessions (including Onboarding), both in-person and remotely via Teams/Zoom and other subjects as required
  • Work and communicate with other areas to ensure all new hire candidates are identified especially students and liaise to address specific needs/training
  • SECONDARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Upload training data into Oracle as required
  • Support the STAR performance management system
  • Update and revise current training material
  • Create new training material
  • Other Training and HR tasks and duties as assigned
  • QUALIFICATIONS

    Skills and Knowledge

  • Highly organized with strong administration and coordination skills, and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Excellent computer skills including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey information to others effectively.
  • Ability to work in an office environment but also able to work and communicate with employees on the shop floor, and able to move between buildings often throughout the workday.
  • Education and Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Business, Training or a related field and Human Resources Management Certification (CHRP), or Adult Education Certification an asset
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a Training or Human Resource role, with exposure to a broad spectrum of Training and/or Human Resource activities, or equivalent experience.
