Interior Health is looking for a Vice President, Medicine and Quality to support the amazing people and communities that make up the Interior Health region.

The Vice President, Medicine and Quality is an integral part of Interior Health's Senior Executive Team (SET) with joint accountability for setting new standards of excellence in the delivery of health services in British Columbia.

Reporting directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer, the VP, Medicine and Quality provides strategic medical administration leadership and is accountable for the medicine
- and quality-related processes governing the delivery of optimum, consistent, and competent medical care provided by Interior Health. The VP works in collaboration with the Clinical Operations portfolios to enhance integration, transparency, and accountability for operational and strategic performance. The VP also leads and guides a team of strong Executive Medical Directors who are focused on supporting their operational dyads and the patients and providers of Interior Health. With strong ties to Aboriginal communities within the IH region, the VP will continue to lead and emphasize the important work on Aboriginal inclusion, care and reconciliation within the Medicine and Quality portfolio and across Interior Health.

This position can be based in Kelowna or in any of the beautiful communities within Interior Health. Qualifications

  • A medical degree with full licensure (or proven eligibility for same) in the Province of British
  • Fifteen or more years of experience in progressively senior leadership roles in an integrated health system environment.
  • Broad scale medical leadership experience across multiple facilities would be ideal, with relevant leadership training and job experience. Broad system integrative thinking is an essential skill for this
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current BC healthcare policies, funding practices, and relevant Federal and Provincial Health Statutes.
  • Collaborative, responsive and supportive with the ability to unify, energize and motivate people, and facilitate positive change.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trustbased relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
