Job Summary


A Brief Overview
Career Services provide university-wide support for career development and the growth of experiential learning opportunities.

We empower and support students and recent graduates to design a rewarding career journey that leverages their education and skills to impact the world positively.


The Employer Engagement Team builds and maintains relationships with employers to increase the number of employment and experiential learning opportunities for students and recent graduates.

Events coordinated by the Employer Team include career fairs, further education expos, employer recruitment information sessions, alumni engagement events, and other networking opportunities that increase students' access to employers and support their career exploration journey.

The Employer Team also administers Queen's MyCareer Job Board and employer programs such as the Summer Work Experience Program, Work Study Program, Queen's Doctoral Internship in University Administration, and pathway program's summer job guarantees.


The schedule for this position requires the incumbent to work frequent early mornings, evenings and weekends, according to program or area needs.


Job Description:


What you will do

  • Acts as a contact for employment partnership opportunities or experiential learning opportunities and handles requests for general internship information, such as questions on tax credits, enrollment, international work permits, and OCASP risk assessments.
  • Tracks, confirms, posts, and monitors internship job positions in the system.
  • Validates and confirms contracts.
  • Updates and maintains spreadsheets and/or databases containing program statistics.
  • Provides administrative support to the department and/or unit, including scheduling meetings.
  • Assists with event coordination and promotion, career fairs, meetings and/or workshops.
  • Supports marketing and communications tactics to promote events and activities by producing invitations and setting up event calendars and registration sites.
  • Other duties as required in support of the department and/or unit.

Required Education

  • Two-Year Community College Diploma.

Required Experience

  • More than 1 year and up to and including 2 years of experience.
Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Question attitudes, comments and behaviours which are discriminatory and seeks out appropriate resources to remove these from the workplace.
