The Project Manager, Central Waitlist Management, reporting to Manager, Central Waitlist Management, will lead health system transformation to increase health data visibility through a patient journey and support access equity improvement across the province.

Specifically, the project manager will be responsible for the execution and delivery of key initiatives associated with the advancement central waitlist management goals and objectives.


Goals of the Central Waitlist Management Program include:

  • Comprehensive engagement to execute a multi-year transformational strategy with immediate focus on surgical patient access and flow.
  • Define and deliver a single provincial system to track patient flow from initial referral to patient recovery leveraging existing provincial assets and systems
  • Support surgical access improvement through enhanced performance information and reporting at the Region, Ontario Health Team, hospital, and provider levels.
  • Effectively integrate provincial decision support to help support adoption of best practices to drive improved patient access and flow.

Here is what you will be doing:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work directly with OH executives & teams, the Ministry of Health (MOH) and other key stakeholders on the delivery of highvisibility provincial implementation projects, which represent a total operating budget of $18M.
  • Refine longterm roadmap for the program aligned to the HSPS direction and the enterprise data strategy.
  • Deliver upon program goals and objectives as outlined within the multiyear road map including leading efforts to deliver upon
  • Creating a repeatable framework for launching singleentry models across the province
  • Expand functionality and support provincial rollout of a BI platform that provides health system insights to Surgical and diagnostic imaging pathways
  • Lead the approach to augment existing data collection as pertains to surgical efficiency and targets data
  • Oversee the development and implementation of a funding model to support regional investments
  • Lead the development of a provincial data repository that will support gaining visibility initial stages in a patients surgical journey
  • Develop and build an advanced, high performance execution team and closely partner with peers within Ontario Health to align prioritization and resourcing to ensure realization of project benefits.
  • Establish and lead project governance to ensure success through stakeholder contribution and advocacy.
  • Through personal example, inspire staff, building a culture that values innovation, intellectual curiosity, and a commitment to quality.
  • Oversight of all workstreams including clinical, business, technical and financial areas to ensure program success.
  • Raise critical issues and project management and delivery risks to Ontario Health governance and executive tables with recommendations.
  • Ensuring projects are aligned with OH mandate, strategic priorities, accountabilities (e.g. equity, clinical, transitions in care/OHTs).
Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience

  • Degree in Business Administration, Technology, Health Sciences, Administration, Informatics and/or related field is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience leading provincial and/or enterpriselevel change management projects to successful realization
  • Five to Seven years of experience working in a complex hospital/institutional environment in the context of project management or process improvement
  • Demonstrated experience in strategy development, health services program planning and implementation, and quality improvement
  • Demonstrated experience managing relationships, largescale change, and system transformation
  • Experience facilitating and coaching interdisciplinary teams and successful use of change management strategies
  • Experience leading projects with multiple work strea
