Job Position: Registered Nurse (RN)
Job type: Contract to perm

Receive report from night shift RN/RPN (via 24-hour taped report, PCC shift report and/or verbal report)

Check daily calendar for appointments, lab, Care Conference, Special Activity events & coordinate/plan shift with day staff Adjust staffing according to resident care needs

Ensure "Fire Duty, Roam Alert and Code White" is assigned

Complete visual round of your assigned units

Unlock balconies and courtyards for residents (weather permitting)

Obtain update from RPN's and assess all non-stable residents.

Follow-up on any falls, incidents, new/acute problems, palliative care and responsive behaviours

Check emails and update Staff Communication Book on each unit (as needed) Review any new orders received on evening/night shift

Plan for Physician Rounds (ensure Doctors board up to date for each resident, lab reports and physicals in doctors book), and Care Conferences Complete Worksheets/Assignment for next day Sign in Staff for unit/shift in complement book

Monitor morning care and respond/assess any care concerns

Complete documentation for infection surveillance, falls, pain and responsive behaviours

Assess feeding requirement needs on each unit and re-assign staff as needed Assist with feeding (as needed), monitor/supervise meal service.#CH123
