A day in the life:


  • Carrying out fieldwork including pavement investigations, site reconnaissance, borehole drilling, asphalt and concrete coring;
  • Scheduling laboratory testing;
  • Carrying out local field and office assignments related to pavement engineering;
  • Assisting in coordinating and performing pavement engineering field investigations;
  • Working with and providing support to other members of the field technician team;
  • Assisting with the preparation of engineering documents including reports, drawings and figures;
  • Demonstrating a "Safety First" focus and acting as a role model to other staff;
  • Complete data entry and analysis of field investigations and laboratory results;
  • Compile engineering reports;
  • Traveling to complete field investigations within Ontario for short periods of time.

What you'll bring to WSP
:


  • College Diploma in a Geotechnical / Civil Engineering program, preferably with a focus on Geotechnical / Pavement Engineering;
  • Demonstrated analytical skills using Excel;
  • Previous experience working as a geotechnical technician;
  • Handson skills, troubleshooting equipment repairs;
  • Knowledge of drilling and coring procedures is an asset;
  • A vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage and hold a valid driver's license.
