Job Title:

The Enterprise Management System & IT Manager role is a multi‐faceted one which draws on skills in software development, product management, and IT systems management.

The Manager reports to the Executive Director and works collaboratively with other VUL personnel to define and implement roadmaps for our website and custom‐built

Enterprise Management System (EMS).

The VUL has hired a software vendor to upgrade and redesign the organization's website and EMS. It is scheduled to be launched in October 2023.

The new EMS is built on Drupal 10, has a modern design, is mobile‐friendly, and will have all previous data and features migrated into it.

The Manager will assist with the launch of the new EMS and assume ownership of the system immediately after the launch.

$35,000 to $40,000. The starting salary will be commensurate with education and experience.


LOCATION
‐ The incumbent must have a home office location, their own computer equipment and telephone. All VUL staff work from home.

‐ Work hours are flexible; however, the Manager is expected to be available for calls and meetings during the day on weekdays.

‐ Incumbent must reside in British Columbia. Preference is for the incumbent to reside in the Metro Vancouver area as the incumbent will be required to attend an in‐person meeting from time to time.

Software Development
Full-stack responsibility: front-end & back-end development in Drupal and MySQL;
Design, build and test features within our large set of custom Drupal modules;
Maintain Drupal core and contributed modules, upgrading when necessary;
Utilize third-party modules to extend functionality where feasible;
Leverage contractors for assistance (e.g. designers, other developers, testers);
Manage and monitor hosting environments to ensure stable operation;
Recommend new technologies or approaches to meet roadmap goals.


Product Management
Develop annual roadmaps and monthly release plans;
Gather and document requirements from VUL staff and members;
Create feature specifications to ensure successful implementation of requirements, working with UX designers as appropriate;
Manage successful delivery of releases, leveraging the assistance of others if required;
Advise the Executive Director on long-term product needs & strategies.


IT Systems Management
Manage most IT systems utilized by the VUL.

These include, but are not limited to:
Google

Workspace, Github, Mailchimp, Slack, Assembla. 1Password, Lockr, Mailchimp, Mailgun,
Paypal Payflow, Solarwinds Pingdom, and Webnames.


Support
Support VUL staff with use of the EMS and IT systems;
Provide tech support to VUL members and other users.
