The University of Ottawa Heart Institute is Canada's largest and foremost cardiovascular health centre dedicated to understanding, treating, and preventing heart disease.

The Division of Cardiac Prevention & Rehabilitation has a unique array of initiatives and programs, with a particular emphasis on innovative approaches to preventing
(primary and secondary) and managing cardiovascular disease. The Division is home to our Cardiac Rehabilitation program, one of the largest in Canada, and the Exercise Physiology and Cardiovascular Health Lab.

Cardiovascular Methods Centre.

  • Ph.
D. degree in a data science (statistics/computer science/engineering) or health-related (exercise physiology/kinesiology preferred, epidemiology) field, or M.D. degree.

  • R. Kin, ACSM RCEP, CSEP CEP, or equivalent (preferred if contributing to clinical exercise physiology / kinesiology activities).
  • A strong understanding of clinical research design, research methodology, and data analysis.
  • Advanced statistical training and knowledge of statistical software packages.
  • Demonstrated experience programming in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, Python).
  • Evidence of experience in the preparation and publication of manuscripts.
  • Excellent oral communication and technical writing skills in English.
  • The ability to take guided initiatives and to work in an organized fashion within a fastpaced research environment, including flexibility in shifting between independent and collaborative work.
  • The ability to work collegially in an exciting and dynamic research environment.
The position is a two-year fellowship with the possibility of a 1-year renewal contingent on performance and funding. Up to two positions may be available. While funding for this position(s) has been secured through the
University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation (Jan & Ian Craig Fellowship), the Canadian Institutes of Health

Salary:
$50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
