About Life After Burns


We are Life After Burns, a burn survivor community that offers a safe and educational space for burn survivors and their loved ones across Canada.


Life After Burns was founded by Victoria Vass, who suffered 3rd degree burns at the age of 9 years old.

While discovering and going through the interpersonal growth that such a rough experience brings, she has made it her mission to educate and build a community with the hopes of helping others on their own journey.


Position Summary
The Fundraising Volunteer helps us to create the continuous buzz around Life After Burns's mandate.

As a part of our fundraising team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating fundraising activities as well as identifying and engaging prospective donors and sponsors.

If you are a self-starter looking for hands-on fundraising and events organizing experience within the non-profit space, this is the perfect role for you.


Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning, organizing, and implementing various fundraising events
  • Organize campaigns that will lead to donations
  • Research potential donors and sponsors and actively seek to deepen current donor and sponsor relationships
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures that reflect ethical fundraising practices
  • Attend and participate in team meetings
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple tasks and deadlines, completing tasks on time with professionalism
  • Ability to perform at a high level independently as well as with a collaborative team member
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders
  • Relevant or previous experience in fundraising for nonprofit organizations is an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in obtaining donations from nonprofits, charities, and other philanthropic organizations
  • Education in Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, International Development, Marketing, or equivalent field of study is an asset.
