CAMP COUNSELOR
DESCRIPTION
Camp Cosmos is a summer day camp for children from families on low-income, particularly those of single-parent, refugee, immigrant, and/or Indigenous background(s).
Camp Cosmos Counselors work with a diverse background of youth.
Counselors are in charge of ensuring the safety of the youth at all times, while facilitating fun and educational activities on a daily basis.
Camp Counselors work alongside Leaders- in
- Training (youth between the ages of 14 17), and a Shadow (who works one on one with a child with special needs).
- 1 weeks of staff training (June 26th30th)
- 6 weeks of camp (July 3th Aug 11th)

QUALIFICATIONS
- Working knowledge of French and English, additional languages an asset
- Love and appreciation of nature; motivation to minimize personal and camp's ecological footprint
- Commitment to principles of antioppression
- Experience working with children
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Experience in leadership position an asset
- Strong communicator (listening, expressing)
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to think outside the box
- Good time management skills
- Love of learning
- References required

LA DESCRIPTION
Camp Cosmos est un camp de jour d'été destiné aux enfants de familles à faible revenu, en particulier ceux de familles monoparentales, réfugiées, immigrantes et / ou autochtones.
Les animateurs/trices du Camp Cosmos travaillent avec des jeunes de divers horizons.
Les animateurs/trices sont chargés d'assurer la sécurité des jeunes à tout moment, tout en facilitant des activités amusantes et éducatives au quotidien.
Les conseillers de camp travaillent aux côtés des conseillers en formation (jeunes de 14 à 17 ans) et d'un Shadow (qui travaillent en tête-à-tête avec un enfant ayant des besoins spéciaux).
- 17.50$ / heure
- 1 semaine de formation du personnel juin)
- 6 semaines de camp (3 juillet 11 août)

QUALIFICATIONS
- Connaissance pratique du français et de l'anglais, langues supplémentaires un atout

- Capacité à travailler en équipe
- Expérience en position de leadership, un atout
- Communicateur fort (écouter, exprimer)
- Bonnes compétences interpersonnelles
- Capacité à sortir des sentiers battus
