Our Position

The Compliance Assurance Partner (AP) is accountable to deliver Assurance activities and conduct non-complex investigations for the US BBU. The AP may also provide occasional support to GCI Global Investigations by providing local market expertise.

As an AP, you will provide proactive assurance activities to independently evaluate the effectiveness of risk controls within the US marketing company, site and unit.

This role also is accountable to prepare summary reports of completed assurance activities that highlight the risk assessed, relevant evidence and data reviewed, findings and proposed remediations.

Your assurance outputs will be shared with the appropriate business and compliance partners as well as the US BBU Compliance Committee (CELT) and are expected to provide valuable, useful insights.

You will work closely with the US BBU Compliance Business Partners, the broader Sustainability team and the business.


As an Assurance Partner, you will be a member of Global Compliance Risk and Assurance Team, reporting directly to the US BBU Regional Assurance Lead.


As an Assurance Partner you will:

  • Develop assurance monitoring templates which clearly outline the risk being reviewed as well as the minimum areas of focus, building on that with deeper dives into specific focus areas.
  • Review risk signal data and reports to ensure that the current US BBU local assurance plan is appropriately targeting the local high risk activities for monitoring.
  • Deliver assigned Global Assurance Activities as agreed in a timely manager in line with agreed timeframes, and drive globally aligned remediation initiatives to address noncompliant areas.
  • Demonstrate forward thinking when conducting local and global Assurance Activities, asking the right questions and diving deeper into specific areas as needed being creative and thinking "beyond the monitoring form" to adjust focus and depth of inquiry as needed.
  • Leverage available internal data solutions and systems to analyze risks and flag areas of concern.
  • Record and report all relevant assurance activities in the relevant assurance repository.
  • Deliver new insights with practical recommendations to the business to drive risk mitigation and control enhancement opportunities.
  • Maintain professional & effective collaboration with Compliance BPs and work closely with other internal functions and teams to ensure overall compliance to all applicable regulatory and licensing requirements as well as to improve the overall risk control environment.
  • Enter AZ Ethics cases into the system where needed
  • Conduct initial assessment of cases within AZ Ethics to determine complexity; triaging complex cases to Investigation Partners.
  • Perform investigations of noncomplex AZ Ethics cases.
  • Participate on Global Compliance Risk and Assurance workstreams as needed.
  • Participate in other activities as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or higher
  • Experience in pharmaceutical or related field.
  • Familiarity with principles of an effective compliance program and corporate governance
  • Demonstrated skills working with data analytics
  • Knowledge of related industry, commercial topics, external requirements, and regulations
  • Strong regulatory/compliance knowledge and skills; strong ability to understand governance, processes, and controls
  • Strong critical thinking skills to identify, analyze, evaluate, and resolve issues quickly.
  • Demonstrated analytical and systematic thinking logically breaking problems down into their essential elements: carrying out diagnosis and developing solutions
  • Capable to share data driven insights with stakeholders and thoroughly understand where data adds value and usefulness
  • Willingness to learn about different areas of the business and different compliance frameworks based on the needs of business area/market.
