This is a hybrid / remote position, only 1 day per week in the office

Office location is in Wallaceburg, ON
Whyte's Foods Inc. is growing and we are looking for Accounting Clerks.


Responsibilities:

Code and enter data into a computerized system. Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.

Verify accuracy of invoices by reviewing prices, quantities, discounts and tax extensions, and totals. Match packing slips and purchase orders to invoices.

Reconcile supplier & customer statements, employee travel accounts and other accounts as required.


Resolve purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; ensure credit is received for outstanding memos; issue stop-payments or purchase order amendments.

Charge expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports.

Review employee expense reports and process corporate purchasing card statements.

Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions. Assist in the month end process and account analysis.

File all documentation as required including boxing and storage of files.

Make bank deposits and direct deposits.

Analyze customer deductions.

Maintain up-to-date accounts payable & receivable information.

Assist in payroll related entries.

Submit & review government remittances.

Perform any other tasks assigned by the controller.


Qualifications:
College Diploma in accounting/finance or business administration.

Minimum 2 yrs experience in full accounts payable and/or accounts receivable cycle for a medium sized company.

Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple deadlines

Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.

Well-developed organizational skills with the ability to manage a variety of tasks.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Ability to work well independently and as part of a strong team.

Must have real world experience working with individuals of diverse backgrounds and a respect for difference.

Excel intermediate to advanced level

Knowledge of the manufacturing industry would be an asset.

Bilingual in English/French would be an asset
