    Job Purpose:

    The Residence Coordinator is the first point of contact for students seeking accommodations and residing at Canterbury College and is responsible for coordinating accommodations and administrative functions to support the college and its students. The Residence Coordinator liaises between students, housekeeping, maintenance, accounting, and management to ensure a positive environment is maintained for all students.


    Key Job Functions:

    Residence Coordination: Coordinate and schedule room accommodations for all properties. Maintain detailed records of student residents, leases, placements, and activity related to fees, communications, and duration of stay through the online Rent Manager system.
    Scheduling and Reporting: Coordinate with staff to ensure all accommodation departure and arrival responsibilities are met and cleaning, repair and maintenance issues are scheduled and recorded. Prepare occupancy reports and lists.


    Communications:

    Respond to student inquiries and maintain strong student relations, resolving accommodation concerns. Monitor general Canterbury email and respond to inquires. Liaise with University of Windsor departments regarding student related matters and campus safety and security.


    Marketing:

    Market rooms and apartments to ensure residence complement is maximized year-round. Create materials to promote Canterbury residence, events, and activities. Ensure information and rates on website and print materials is current.


    Office Support:

    Provide administrative support to the college, Executive Director, and Principal. Assist with the coordination of events, classes and activities held by the college and extended community. Greet and screen visitors, telephone calls and emails. Maintain inventory of office and student supplies and receive orders from service providers and couriers.


    Organizational Structure:

    The Residence Coordinator reports directly to the Executive Director and is a non-supervisory role. The position holder interacts with all members of the small staff of twelve.

    Skills/ Knowledge/Experience/Education required:

    Three years experience in an office/administrative role
    Strong data management and computer skills, including familiarity with an online management system, online forms, Microsoft, and accounting software.
    Strong interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written.
    Ability to multi-task and coordinate multiple projects while interacting with students.
    Willingness to work a flexible schedule which may include weekends and evenings at certain times.
    Completion of a related course of study at the university or post secondary level, or a combination of experience and education sufficient to complete the work.

    As the primary contact of the College with students, potential residents, parents, academic guests, and the public, the position holder must be able to interact and communicate well, demonstrating appreciation and respect for all people.
