    Job Summary


    The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor will provide direction, leadership, planning, and change‑management oversight for building infrastructure, utilities, maintenance, and operational equipment. Responsibilities include administering, planning/scheduling, managing, and controlling the activities and quality of service of the plant operations and maintenance, ensuring 24/7 operation of major base building systems such as chillers, boilers, HVAC, plumbing, emergency generators, and fire safety systems.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Develop and manage the facility operations & maintenance budget, ensuring expenditures remain within approved guidelines.
    • Develop and train staff, schedule maintenance, and create preventative maintenance plans.
    • Design and implement functional policies and programs that support long‑term business performance goals.
    • Participate in the development of site policies and procedures and overall business plans.
    • Direct vendor/supplier services, project management, change management, major maintenance, and capital repairs/improvements.
    • Lead and motivate a diverse workforce, ensuring teamwork, customer service, employee relations resolution, high standards of quality, continuous learning, and innovation.
    • Coordinate and dispatch trades and related services across all facilities, including internal and contracted resources.
    • Manage mechanical/electrical and structural/architectural contracts.
    • Ensure facility modifications minimize potential for contamination and limit exposure to undesirable microbiological contaminants.
    • Prepare and coordinate reports and recommendations on matters related to responsibilities.
    • Maintain knowledge of applicable codes and regulations, ensuring compliance in facilities maintenance.
    • Maintain current drawings for equipment and critical installations; ensure compliance with building, plumbing, and electrical codes.
    • Ensure safe and hygienic practices are followed during daily site inspections, maintaining safety, quality, and compliance.

    Education and Preferred Qualifications

    • More than 5 years of senior strategic leadership experience in facilities, maintenance, or operations.
    • Post‑secondary education in a relevant field (mechanical, electrical, HVAC, etc.); Red Seal certification is an asset.
    • Demonstrated leadership in transformation, building a robust customer‑service culture.
    • Proven skill in leading change, managing stakeholder interests, and building strong relationships within complex organizations.
    • Excellent analytical, technical, and planning skills with full accountability as a supervisor.
    • Expertise in fiscal responsibility, strategic planning, and budgeting.
    • Proficiency in fostering collaborations with regulatory authorities.
    • Experience with preventive and demand maintenance technology systems for facilities.
    • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
    • Project‑management experience with engineering and construction companies.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

    Compensation and Benefits


    Compensation: Expected annual base salary range $70,000 – $90,000, plus up to 20% discretionary bonus, subject to skills, experience, education, market, and internal equity.
