At Sinai Health, we care, create possibilities and offer hope. We are looking for an experienced Consultant in our Department of Performance Measurement and Reporting.


Responsibilities:


  • Collaborate with clinical programs, physicians, senior leadership and other key stakeholders on routine and adhoc analysis of information to provide recommendations for performance improvement, maximize revenue streams and support patient care in a costeffective manner.
  • Prepares routine and adhoc reporting to senior management and executive leadership to support operations and initiatives.
  • Prepares briefing notes, reports and presentations to document and present the findings of analysis, potential options and recommendations.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve reporting processes to streamline activities, reduce duplication, and allocate additional time for provision of analysis and advice.
  • Develop strong collaborative relationships with Admitting, Information Services, Finance, clinical areas and other departments as required in order to effectively perform responsibilities.
  • Ensures there is comprehensive documentation of all responsibilities to facilitate appropriate backup capabilities in times of absence.
  • Achieves excellence in the provision of accurate, complete and timely corporate information.
  • Promotes a collaborative, teambased approach to problem solving that supports evidencedbased decisionmaking with clinical and corporate teams.
  • Assists in the development of policies and procedures related to review of utilization, maintenance of high data quality and efficient reporting processes.
  • Monitor provincial resources such as websites and webcasts in order to document changes and maintain a current understanding of provincial Casemix and funding methodologies.
  • Professional and ethical responsibility to protect privacy, and maintain the confidentiality and security of all information related to patients, staff and the business of Sinai Health System.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, respect/caring, integrity, dedication and excellence in the work environment.
  • Performs crossfunctional duties consistent with the job classification and other duties as assigned or requested.


  • Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. information analytics, business administration, health administration).
  • Minimum of three years of relevant healthcare experience.
  • Applicants with proven equivalent recent and related training and experience may be considered.
  • Knowledge of OCDM standards and benchmarking with associated reporting systems such as Intellihealth, CIHI Portal and MOHLTC Hospital Indicator Tool (HIT).
  • Knowledge of hospital clinical data sets such as DAD, NACRS, CCRS, NRS and OMHRS.
  • Experience with case costing, utilization management, reporting, benchmarking, and analysis contributing to effective evidencebased decisionmaking.
  • Technical experience with programming or database tools such as SAS, SQL Server (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS), HTML, CSS, Javascript considered an asset.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including demonstrated expert level of proficiency in Excel.
  • Understanding of care delivery operations and business operations; familiar with hospital processes.
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking and creative problemsolving skills.
  • Highly analytical with excellent presentation and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, respect of peers, and ability to thrive under pressure.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize competing workload demands.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and to establish and build effective working relationships.
  • Independent worker with strong organization and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance record.
