Job Description Summary:


As an Associate Lab Manager, you will be integral to the training and hands-on support of our researchers at all levels providing safety training, coordinating equipment maintenance and installation, ordering and maintaining inventories of lab supplies, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the Research & Development (R&D) department.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support daytoday lab operations through maintaining supplies of consumables, mice, primary cells and antibody reagents, as well as coordinating the maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment
  • Organize and support the administration of R&D's extensive internal, lab skills training program to ensure all lab staff are trained on safety and general lab skills/protocols, and offer technical support and knowledge of general lab techniques
  • Coordinate and collaborate with internal stakeholders, chair meetings with lab users, communicate updates to R&D lab staff, and implement policies to ensure compliance
  • Recommend process improvements, coordinate lab moves, renovations, and/or expansions, and support Quality Management System (QMS) initiatives

Knowledge and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 36 years relevant experience, or Master's degree with 14 years relevant experience in the life sciences field required
  • General knowledge of lab techniques such as cell culture, flow cytometry, microscopy, animal handling, and/or general molecular biology needed
  • Ability to work autonomously and function in a teamoriented, collaborative environment necessary
  • Experience with laboratory safety training and first aid certification is highly desirable, as is familiarity with CapEx principles
  • Strong communication, project management, and organizational skills is an asset
