Communications & Marketing Manager:


The
Recreation Facilities Association of British Columbia (RFABC) is seeking a full time Communications & Marketing Manager to support the growth of our Association.


The RFABC is not-for-profit member-based volunteer driven organization and has been providing its recreation facility operation expertise to individuals and municipalities throughout the province since 1948.


The role of the RFABC is to promote universal interest, education training, sound operating standards, professionalism and mentoring among all recreation providers, both public and private.

The focus of the RFABC is the successful operation of all categories of recreation facilities and other facilities that satisfy the diverse activity needs of communities of British Columbia.


Reporting to the Executive Director, the Communications Manager will direct and administer the digital aspects of the communications and marketing programs of the RFABC.


Duties:


  • Support the maintenance and development of the RFABC website and ensures it is up to date and relevant.
  • Manage online course and event registrations in conjunction with the Education and Business Manager
  • Manage social media in conjunction with the Education and Business Manager
  • Assist in marketing activities.
  • Prepare and submit monthly newsletters to the membership.
  • Coordinate regional zone meetings with the assistance of the RFABC Zone Directors
  • Coordinates virtual and inperson webinars/seminars in conjunction with members of the Board of Directors
  • Participate in monthly Board of Director calls.
  • Assist in the organization and delivery of the Annual Conference /Trade Show
  • Responsible for research, gather content and publishing the quarterly Facility 2 Facility magazine.
  • Conduct research and/or survey, analyzes data, and information relating to communication and engagement strategies.
  • Responsible for the membership management system including membership renewals and new membership registration.
  • Development and implementation of Brand Guidelines.

Qualifications and Education:


  • University or college graduation in either Recreation or Leisure Studies, Marketing and Communications

Experience:


  • 3 to 5 years progressively responsible program, marketing, supervisory, and facility experience in the parks and recreation field
  • Experience working with volunteer nonprofit board members.

Skills and Abilities:


  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership and team building skills in dealing with internal and external colleagues or partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to take a lead role in the communication and outreach programs of the RFABC.
  • Understanding of online registration programs, website management software and social media would be an asset.
  • Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
The position is a full-time position. The monthly compensation for the position is $33.60 per hour for a 35-hour work week. This position accrues vacation based on 4% of the pay. You are also provided with $200 a month for your home office expenses.
