Reporting to the Director of Communications ("Supervisor"), the Communications and Marketing Coordinator supports the department in communicating CAGBC's work to a broad audience.

The Coordinator will contribute by supporting content creation, production, distribution, reporting, and provide website and social media support. Experience or training in public relations, media relations, digital marketing and social media is welcome. Bilingualism is an asset.


Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of key deliverables for assigned projects and initiatives, including content creation, website updates, media or stakeholder outreach, and related tasks as directed by Supervisor.
  • Serve as point of contact for media, triaging incoming requests and supporting interviews.
  • Contribute to media coverage by identifying opportunities, building relationships with reporters and developing pitches.
  • Support original content development for internal and external communications (including but not limited to social media, news releases, case studies, web content, content for print collateral, bylines, newsletters).
  • Track speaking opportunities and contributed article opportunities with media partners
  • Support reporting needs in alignment with communications deliverables for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Perform related duties and responsibilities and complete projects and initiatives as assigned by the Supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Agile problem solver with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Exemplary written communication abilities as well as superior attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multitask and manage numerous tasks concurrently while ensuring a highquality execution.
  • Quick learner who is able to absorb and synthesize information quickly and accurately.
  • Good judgement, and fully capable of working in a teamoriented, hybrid environment.
  • Capacity to complete tasks in a selfdirected manner.

Highly Desirable

  • Fully bilingual
  • Knowledge of WordPress, Adobe Suite, SEO, Hootsuite
  • Experience in digital marketing and social media

Education & Qualifications

  • Postsecondary degree in a related field (communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, etc.)
  • Minimum of two years of experience in some combination of media relations, marketing, or public relations.
